As a state-level innovative scientific research unit for CAS-local partner collaboration, SINANO has been highly responsive and made a positive impact on the "energy-saving and pollution reduction" policy since its initial construction. The Opening of the SINANO-SONY Joint Lab on May 27th served as a tribute to SIP 15th anniversary. The joint lab will collaborate in the field of environmental protection, developing fast, sensitive and in situ nanosensors for underwater detection.

The 7-member delegation represented by Dr. Kumagai，senior vice president of SONY, visited SINANO, signed the collaboration agreement and opened the joint lab. The delegation was welcome by vice-director of CAS Erwei Shi, Standing Committee Member of CPC Suzhou Municipal Committee, CPC Secretary of SIP Administration Committee Minglong Ma, and SINANO Director Hui Yang.

After the opening ceremony, Sr. VP Dr. Kumagai visited the nanofabrication facility, characterization facility, and labs in Nanobiomedicine Divistion.
