On November 27th, Academician XIE Yi from University of Science and Technology of China visited sinano for a exchange program invited by Professor CHEN Liwei. The report is a series of academic lectures in suzhou nano materials research center & nano technology co innovation center.

Prof. XIE Yi's research is based on the design and performance of electric and acoustic modulation of functional inorganic solid, and make a report named "low dimensional solid electroacoustic transport behavior regulation and energy transformation and application ". Prof. XIE Yi used one-dimensional diatomic chain, two-dimensional atomic plane, superlattice these three kinds of low dimensional solid materials as example introducing how the transformation, vacancies, doping and hybrid regulate the vibronic structure, finally obtaine excellent energy conversion materials used in optical / electrical decomposition of water and hot conversion, etc. Prof. XIE Yi’s wonderful work and academic report raised a heated discussion and deep reflection.

Brief introduction of Prof. XIE Yi. After graduated from the Xiamen University in 1988, Prof. XIE Yi achieved her PhD in USTC and stayed for teaching. In 1998, She won the national outstanding youth fund and promoted to full professor, then became professor of the Yangtze River in 2000. In 2004-2009, She managed the innovation fund of Fund Committee as a academic leader. In 2009-2013, She moderated major research projects of Ministry of Science and Technology as chief scientist. She has got IUPAC Chemical engineering outstanding female Award(2013), TWAS Chemistry Award(2014), L'Oréal-UNESCO Awards for Women in Science(2015), Chinese Young Scientist Award(2002) and Chinese young woman scientist Award(2006), etc. Now she is the subeditor of Inorganic Chemistry Frontiers.
