Nanomodular materials workshop Topics include: • Emerging New Science, Materials, and Systems • Theory and Nanosystems Design • Electronics from Nanomodular Materials • Structural and Chemical Applications • Scalable Manufacturing and Commercialization • Environmental Health and Safety Nanomodular materials workshop introduce:The workshop is focused on the recent developments in 2D materials (including graphene, MoS2, etc.) and the great advantages they bring due to their remarkable electrical, mechanical and thermal properties. These materials have complemented earlier discoveries in carbon nanotubes, semiconductor nanowires, quantum dots and various other new materials. The challenge now is to go beyond these individual systems and consider combinations of such materials – including fabrication techniques that enable such combinations as well as computational techniques for modeling them – and, further, to explore the types of functionality that such composite, “nanomodular” systems might enable. The US National Science Foundation (NSF) introduce:The US National Science Foundation (NSF) is sponsoring a materials and systems by design worldwide. The purpose of this study is to identify the gaps, grand challenges and future directions of the field, focusing on the use of technology to build nanomaterials, devices, and systems with a suitable composition of various nanostructures. It will also identify the needs and barriers in global manufacturing of such systems. (More detailed information can be found at http://wtec.org/nmsd). The final results will be shared on a webcast on June 2, 2015 and a final report will be posted at the wtec.org website. US Delegate members and CV:
