Introduction:
Lithium secondary batteries are applied in various applications such as consumer electronics, electric vehicles, and grid-scale energy storage. It is widely expected that the lithium battery industry will embrace a period of explosive growth in the near future. However, technical challenges in energy density, power density, safety, cycle life, and cost still remain. Specific applications are setting technical milestones for lithium battery R&D. The Lithium Battery 2013 symposium will gather top international experts to discuss the challenges and advances in the field. The symposium aims at bridging the academic research and industrial application for a sustainable energy storage future.
