Mini Biography

Di Zhang, senior researcher of the Inorganic Laboratory of the Process Chemistry Center, ?bo Akademi University, Finland.

Dr. Di Zhang received her B.Sc. degree from Heilongjiang University in 2000, and M.Sc. degree from the University of Turku, Finland in 2002, and Ph.D. in Inorganic Chemistry (Biomaterials) from ?bo Akademi University, Finland in 2008. During her Ph.D. study, she has won “2008 Chinese Government Award for Outstanding Self-financed Students Abroad” and “the best oral presentation” award in the 20th International Symposium on Ceramics in Medicine (Bioceramics 20), Nantes, France, 2007. She worked as a senior researcher in the same institution after receiving the diploma. During 2010 to 2011, she had a postdoctoral research visit to the International Materials Institute for New Functionality in Glass (IMI), Lehigh University, US. Currently, she is a research fellow granted by the Finnish Magnus Ehrnrooth Foundation. Her research area focuses on inorganic based biomaterials for orthopedic and oral implantation. She has published 20 scientific papers in international journals including J. Am. Ceramic Soc., Acta Biomaterialia, J. of Biomedical Materials Research, J. of J Material Science: Materials in Medicine, etc. She has also contributed to write one book chapter.
